Mike was born March 23, 1962 in Cherry Point, North Carolina. He moved to Alabama at the age of 10 and has lived here since (as he says Alabama is home). Mike graduated from Stanhope in 1980 and started working at Hager Hinge Manufacturing where he is now Production Manager as well as Bi-Vocational Pastor. Bro. Mike married the former Debby Gilmer of Opp on August 29, 1987 and they have one daughter, Ashleigh.
Mike is a sports fanatic. He enjoys watching football, baseball, basketball and of course his favorite sport is NASCAR (#43).
Pastor Mike was saved at the age of 25 at Tunnell Chapel Baptist Church in Wetumpka in March of 1988. He then surrendered to preach at Calvary Baptist Church in June of 1992 and became Associate Pastor at Westside, September 25, 1993. Mike was ordained in January of 1996 and became Senior Pastor at Westside as well on that date.
